# What's the role

UnitedMasters is seeking a VP, Head of Engineering to lead and scale our engineering team. Reporting to the President of UnitedMasters, you will be responsible for leading and growing a high-performing team. Your team will empower artists to distribute music, grow their fan base, and connect with brands and licensors. The technology your team builds will help artists get paid and get heard. You will be at the cutting edge of the creator economy, building a marketplace and innovation engine as the world moves towards web3.

What You'll Do

• Lead, manage and expand a large team of customer-focused software engineers
• Partner with Heads of Product, Design, Data Science, UX Research and business to develop and execute on Product and Tech Strategy
• Mentor and guide the technical development of engineers on your team, and continuously improve software engineering practices
• Hire top-performing engineering talent while maintaining our company’s industry-leading level of diversity and inclusion
• Be responsible for maintaining our production, staging, and test environments through configuration automation tools
• Ensure our services communicate with each other seamlessly, have minimal downtime, and recover quickly
• Own the craftsmanship, reliability, and scalability of your team’s solutions
  
  

# Requirements

• 10+ years of experience directly managing large high-performing engineering teams.
• Full Stack Development Skills: you have experience at mobile app development, web development, backend and infrastructure development
• Strong people leadership skills including growing and mentoring your team members
• Experience with the full lifecycle of software development from requirements and design through to development, testing, deployment, and support
• Deep technical expertise and strong problem-solving and data analysis skills
• Experience evolving and communicating a strong vision/roadmap for your team
• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related field or equivalent professional experience
• Bonus: Musicians or music lover
