Web3 Member of Technical Staff, Platform Engineering

Anchorage Digital was founded in 2017 to advance institutional participation in digital assets. With an emphasis on security and usability, we provide the technology, infrastructure, and tools that make it easy for institutions across the world to participate in crypto. Our team brings together the brightest minds from security, finance, and distributed systems to build the infrastructure of a new financial system. We are a remote-first, global team, but provide the option of working in-office in San Francisco, New York City, Indianapolis, Sioux Falls, Porto, and Singapore.

The team you’ll work with The mission of the Platform Engineering team is to provide a robust infrastructural foundation to promote reliability, scalability, performance and developer velocity at Anchorage. This team owns various infrastructure components including cloud infrastructure (e.g. gke, terraform), continuous integration and testing, continuous delivery/deployment.

The impact This is a force-multiplier development role that allows a developer to have an impact broadly across Anchorage engineering. Internal developers will appreciate a well functioning build pipeline that allows them to get their code to production smoothly.  The business and Anchorage customers will appreciate a reliable, secure runtime infrastructure as that is a core competency of the Anchorage ecosystem and value proposition.  The role has cross-team exposure which allows for interesting work and professional growth.

You may be a fit for this role if You have experience with one of the major cloud providers (ideally GCP and/or AWS) and config management tools like Puppet, Ansible, Chef, etc. You care deeply about correctness, security, code quality, and test infrastructure. You enjoy programming, infra-as-code, monitoring, and automation.

Although not a requirement, bonus points if You feel comfortable diving down the stack and into open source projects to root cause a bug. In your mind the word “crypto” stands for cryptography, not cryptocurrency. You were emotionally moved by the soundtrack to Hamilton, which chronicles the founding of a new financial system. :)

Tech stack: While experience with specific languages isn’t a requirement our stack is the below. Big Data Tech: BigQuery, Looker, Python, Airflow Backend Tech: Go, Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform, GCP, REST and GraphQL. Engineering methodologies: Reverse uptime, cryptographically linked data models, air gapped infrastructure, secure execution environments, and infra-as-code.
