Celo Foundation is hiring a
Web3 Office Coordinator, San Francisco

Location: remote

At the Celo Foundation, we partner with organizations across the Celo ecosystem including partnering with cLabs, the team working on the open-source platform Celo, whose mission is to build a regenerative digital economy that creates the conditions for prosperity for all.

Celo aims to remove the barriers to the large-scale adoption of cryptocurrencies as means-of-payment. Using a novel address-based encryption algorithm, the Celo protocol makes sending money as easy as sending a text. Additionally, Celo uses stable-value tokens pegged to fiat currencies, like the US Dollar, to minimize volatility.

Celo is an open protocol enabling many to participate in the system, even with a budget Android smartphone. The first application launched on the Celo platform, Valora, is a social payment and money transfer app, aimed at developing markets.

We are hiring 1-2 roles to support our office organization and reception presence in our San Francisco Celo Community Hub. This is a great opportunity for someone inspired by or interested in web3, especially the ReFi space, as we have people working on many Celo projects working out of our space. This office hub is open to various projects (teams or organizations) building on the Celo platform, and offers huge value in collaboration and coworking.

In this role, working up to 20 hours a week, you’ll ensure that every person coming into our space is welcomed and checked in properly, and you’ll handle some modest office administration responsibilities and organization.

You Will:

  • Create a lovely, welcoming, clutter-free environment
  • Welcome guests and help them to sign in
  • Stock and maintain the office area
  • Own shipping and receiving logistics
  • Assist with organizing space and conference room reservations as needed
  • Coordinate with vendors and trades-people to keep office running smoothly
  • Collaborate with other team members to improve the office experience (e.g. improve the sign-in process, create helpful lists and QR codes)
  • Keep track of everyone in the space to ensure we know who they are (to help them feel welcome, and to help orient everyone as to how we interact with this versatile community space)
  • Partner with others who support the space e.g. IT/security, event organizers and the People Circle
  • Take on other office administrative tasks as needed

About You:

  • Super organized and great attention to detail
  • Sociable, friendly and confident
  • Great at building relationships
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to manage many tasks in a day and effectively prioritize work
  • Self-motivated and highly productive without close supervision
  • Passionate about Celo’s mission
  • Bonus: passion for web3 and/or ReFi; part of the Celo community

This role requires someone who is able to lift 30-40 pounds, sit at a desk for long periods of time and be active on their feet for 2+ hours at a time. This role pays $18/hour.
