Web3 Staff Accountant

As the Staff Accountant, you will report to the Senior Accounting Manager. You will play a major role in Magic Eden’s Accounting team. This position will be part of a busy, fast-paced work environment. A successful, driven Staff Accountant will have the ability to multitask, a willingness to learn and do whatever it takes to get the job done. You will have the opportunity to work on a wide range of projects including, but not limited to: accounting issues, preparation of financial statements & packets, and working with and presenting to Senior Management.

Responsibilities:

• Partner with internal teams and develop relationships to ensure positive collaboration
• Collaborate on continuous process improvement projects for areas of responsibility.
• Assist with day-to-day, monthly, and year-end operations of the accounting and finance department
• Prepare financial reporting including ad-hoc internal reports and financial analysis
• Ensure integrity of accounting records through well prepared journal entries with adequate documentation, thorough analysis and monthly reconciliations
• Assist in the evaluation and adoption of accounting standard updates, including assisting in documenting conclusions around complex and technical accounting areas.
• Analyze and help prepare monthly financial packages for review, including detailed variance explanations
• Maintain the documentation of accounting processes and procedures

What you bring:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting
• 2+ years of accounting-related work experience
• Knowledge and understanding of GAAP Accounting
• Knowledge of ERP systems (preferably NetSuite)
• Must be experienced in Microsoft Excel/Google Sheets
• Excellent organizational abilities, attention to detail, strong written and oral communication skills
• Ability to set and keep deadlines at a fast pace without losing accuracy
• Must be able to prioritize, problem solve, take initiative, and maintain confidentiality of sensitive personnel information

Nice to Haves

• CPA certification or CPA track
• Public accounting experience, preferably from a Big 4 accounting firm
• Experience working in a Web3/FinTech environment
• SQL Experience

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. The base salary range for this role is $80,000 - $95,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Magic Eden’s equity plan. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations.
