About the Role

Our Lead Engineer will be a crucial working member of a rapidly growing technical team, playing a key role in navigating the technical and business direction through the nascent DeFi landscape. We are looking for a dynamic leader with extensive experience as a developer to work closely with our technical co-founders to architect and deliver a secure, highly scalable platform that leverages modern system design principles and technologies to power a range of use cases for web, mobile and API. You will have an exciting opportunity to build and scale a world-class team, establishing best practice standards for how CANVAS is experienced by the world. Our Technology Stack

CANVAS prides itself on using a modern technology stack which helps us move quickly and develop efficient, scalable solutions.

The technology and tooling we use today includes: - NodeJS services deployed using a Serverless architecture on AWS - AWS services e.g. API Gateway, Lambda, SQS, Dynamo DB - React webapp deployed on Vercel - AppCentre for Mobile CI/CD   We keep ourselves organised using industry standard collaboration tools like JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket, Slack etc. 

What you’ll do - Work closely with technical co-founders to architect & deliver a secure, highly - scalable platform leveraging modern system design principles & technologies to power a range of use cases for web, mobile & API - Architect & deliver integrations with third parties - Build automation workflows for straight through processing of transactions - Define, delegate and manage work & assignments to team members - Ensure that monitoring & alerting is in place at all levels to ensure high levels of uptime, reliability and a great user experience. - Reviewing code to ensure quality & adherence to secure coding standards - Create a strong security culture throughout the engineering team. - Assist in defining, hiring & training engineers - Promote collaboration & engagement amongst the technical team   What we are looking for - You must have a solid background as a developer with 5+ years of software development experience - Work history in an enterprise SaaS or Fintech CompanyBlockchain/Crypto knowledge a plus - Experience in leading small, high performance teams towards common goals - Self-starter who can work independently towards goals & deliverables - Excellent adaptability and problem solving skills - Ability to collaborate with global teams, sharing relevant thoughts, ideas and key information - Extensive knowledge on DevOps & CI/CD practices, build and release pipelines, etc. - Solid technical understanding of core AWS services such as Lambda functions - Proficiency with AWS technology stack e.g. API Gateway, CloudWatch, VPC, Lambda functions, EC2, S3, DynamoDB, ElastiCache, SQS, and SNS - Familiarity with Agile project management tools such as JIRA Kanban boards
