Position Summary:
JFDI is seeking an accomplished and detail-oriented Controller to lead the financial review processes and ensure the accuracy of client-facing financial statements. This hands-on role requires public accounting experience, specifically in audit, and the ability to serve as the final level reviewer before financial reports are delivered to clients. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical accounting skills and proven leadership, ensuring compliance, quality, and excellence in financial reporting.
The Role:
- Lead the accounting team as the final reviewer of financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance before submission to clients
- Provide guidance and mentorship to the accounting team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and accountability
- Ensure all financial reports, disclosures, and statements adhere to GAAP and other applicable standards
- Maintain and refine financial policies and procedures to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients, providing financial insights, strategic recommendations, and expert accounting services
- Oversee the review, analysis, and reconciliation of client financial statements, ensuring accuracy and adherence to all regulatory standards
- Support client-specific financial strategies, ensuring alignment with their goals while maintaining the integrity of their financial data
- Collaborate with internal teams and executives to assess financial performance and identify areas for improvement
- Leverage expertise in digital assets (cryptocurrency, blockchain technology) to provide forward-thinking financial strategies for clients invested in this space
- Assist with ad hoc financial tasks as required
Job Requirements and Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification is highly preferred
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience, with a focus on audit and at least 3 years in a managing role
- Public accounting experience required, specifically in audit
- Technical accounting skills with deep knowledge of GAAP, financial audits, and internal controls
- Good understanding of digital assets, including cryptocurrency and blockchain technology
- Experience leading an accounting team, with a focus on accuracy and compliance in financial reporting
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on driving efficiency and accuracy in financial processes
