Your Role: Manager, Engineering

Overview: Interested in joining a fast-growing Series B startup looking to change the crypto payments industry. We are a well-funded startup looking to hire a Manager, Engineering reporting into the CTO. The company has just over 50 employees and was recently valued at over $1Bn in its most recent round raised in summer 2021. We are growing quickly and looking to hire a Manager, Engineering who can help manage and grow our engineering team.

Responsibilities:

• Build and retain a team of high performing engineers, including sourcing, screening, and interviewing
• Mentor and grow engineers, owning the performance review cycle for your team
• Partner with the Product Manager and Design Lead to deliver exceptional products
• Collaborate cross-functionally on vision and strategy, and implement effective processes to communicate and execute on milestones
• Establish effective metrics, monitoring, integration, and deployment practices
• Set the standards and continually raise the bar on engineering quality

Required Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• 7+ years of experience working in the tech industry
• Bachelors or advanced degree in CS, EE or other STEM majors, or equivalent experience
• Experience managing a fullstack team and collaborating with product and design teams
• Experience shipping scalable and reliable customer-facing products
• Experience delivering products used by millions of people
• Experience building and maintaining a culture of technical excellence, meritocracy, and accountability across large teams
• Deep knowledge of fullstack frameworks and ecosystems
• Experience with APIs to complex distributed systems and network protocols
• Hands-on mentality, attention to detail, and keen interest in security, reliability, and scale
• Ability to create well-documented code and communicate effectively on technical subjects
• Enthusiastic about helping engineers do their best work, develop new skills, and make an impact
• Authentic, direct, and able to swiftly evaluate tradeoffs

Preferred Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

• Strong familiarity with the Bitcoin & Crypto ecosystems and are a thought leader in the evolution of consumer-facing crypto products
• Experience leading organizations across multiple time zones and in a remote environment

Location: The office is based out of San Francisco, but remote candidates will be considered.
