We are currently looking for a Crypto Engineer for a long term project in Utrecht area.
The initial contract will run until end of the year with option of extension and a permanent employment after the contracting period is also an option.

You rush into a shop at the central station. During checkout, you tap your bank card at the terminal and it beeps: "insufficient funds". You quickly pull out your phone, log in to the app, and transfer money from your savings account to your payment account. You swipe your card again. This time, the transaction succeeds. All of this is possible using secure techniques, such as cryptography. As a crypto engineer, you help making this possible and keeping the bank and its clients secure.

• Being responsible for the day-to-day management of the Hardware Security Modules (HSMs) infrastructure, including tooling, network, and monitoring.
• Participating in project activities such as lifecycle management of HSMs and our cryptographic applications.
• Supporting the Key Lifecycle Management for critical applications such as PKI and payment.
• Actively contributing to the department’s Agile way of working.

You are responsible for the second-line support of Keys and Key Management regarding the availability, timeliness, and performance of our service. You manage client expectations. You have knowledge of ITIL processes, compliancy requirements, incident management, and Analysis & Monitoring. You participate in the team’s 24/7 standby schedule. You will work in a Team of 15 people and work the Agile way of working.

• On (v)HSMs (experience/knowledge), preferably for payment as well as general purpose, you are able to support, maintain and improve our services
• Or experience or knowledge of several cryptographical concepts, (such as PKI), you can solve complex issues and provide advice. Having an understanding of payment processes and (inter)national standards makes you a preferred candidate.
• On supporting your colleagues in solving integration issues using your DevOps skills (programming languages such as Java, C#, knowing (REST/SOAP API etc.), using script languages such as Bash and PowerShell.
• On the day-to-day operations, you coordinate client requests and stay calm and analytical during incidents.
• proven security and risk awareness (CISSP, CISA or equivalent certifications)
• 5+ years of working experience in a technical IT function
