For more information, visit www.bitgo.com.We are looking for an Alternate Principal Officer to join our team in Bangalore. This individual will be responsible for implementing and maintaining effective AML/KYC policies, procedures, and controls, ensuring compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements, and serving as the primary point of contact for regulatory bodies. Responsibilities:
Support the Principal Officer in all FIU-IND–related regulatory and compliance matters, including ongoing reporting and documentation requirements. Review high-risk transaction monitoring alerts and assist in identifying suspicious or unusual VDA-related transaction patterns, ensuring clear documentation of decisions. Assist in the preparation and filing of Suspicious Transaction Reports (STRs) by collecting evidence, maintaining records, ensuring confidentiality, and escalating matters in a timely manner. Support KYC, CDD, and Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD) reviews for high-risk or complex customer cases and help identify customers requiring re-KYC or periodic review. Assist in the design, maintenance, and enhancement of AML/CFT policies, procedures, and internal controls, including participation in periodic risk assessments. Identify gaps or weaknesses in existing compliance controls and report findings with recommendations to the Principal Officer. Coordinate with internal teams (IT, Operations, and other stakeholders) on transaction monitoring systems, data requirements, and compliance-related initiatives, including staff training support. Support regulatory interactions, audits, and inspections by compiling data, maintaining proper records, ensuring audit trails, and organizing compliance documentation for regulator access.
Required:
2- 5 years of experience in financial crime compliance or risk management position. In-depth knowledge of PMLA and FIU-IND VDA Guidelines and other applicable regulations and how they apply to digital assets and cryptocurrency platforms. Strong understanding of financial crime prevention, including AML, KYC, CDD, EDD, and sanctions screening. Ability to manage regulatory inquiries and audits effectively and work with external regulators and auditors. Strong communication skills, with the ability to clearly communicate complex regulatory requirements to both internal teams and external parties. Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, and manage competing priorities. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
