Coinbase is hiring a
Web3 Associate, Asset Listings & Services

Compensation: $130k - $154k

Location: Remote - USA

Ready to be pushed beyond what you think you’re capable of?

At Coinbase, our mission is to increase economic freedom in the world. It’s a massive, ambitious opportunity that demands the best of us, every day, as we build the emerging onchain platform — and with it, the future global financial system.

To achieve our mission, we’re seeking a very specific candidate. We want someone who is passionate about our mission and who believes in the power of crypto and blockchain technology to update the financial system. We want someone who is eager to leave their mark on the world, who relishes the pressure and privilege of working with high caliber colleagues, and who actively seeks feedback to keep leveling up. We want someone who will run towards, not away from, solving the company’s hardest problems.

Our work culture is intense and isn’t for everyone. But if you want to build the future alongside others who excel in their disciplines and expect the same from you, there’s no better place to be.

While many roles at Coinbase are remote-first, we are not remote-only. In-person participation is required throughout the year. Team and company-wide offsites are held multiple times annually to foster collaboration, connection, and alignment. Attendance is expected and fully supported.

As a Listings Associate, you'll be at the forefront of advancing Coinbase’s asset listings program and strategy. This role plays an important part both in researching/prioritizing assets, as well as spearheading a monitoring program overseeing 1,000+ assets serving as the “air traffic control” of these listings. If you’re the type of person who researches and uses crypto for fun on nights and weekends, you have a self-starter entrepreneurial mindset, and want to make a huge impact on Coinbase and the crypto ecosystem, this role is for you. This is one of those roles that’s not right for most people, and is hard to hire for, but for the folks where it’s truly a fit, this is the most incredible, fun, and rewarding job in the world.

What you’ll be doing (ie. job duties):

  • Perform research and due-diligence on crypto assets and their tokenomics, broad categories of assets, crypto technologies, or organizations to help determine asset listing prioritization.
  • Develop and execute initiatives supporting our asset monitoring and intelligence platform – the eyes and ears for incidents in the crypto ecosystem which may require triage, escalation, and action by Coinbase teams.
  • Your responsibilities include forks, upgrades/token migrations, legal proceedings, blockchain security events, or significant organization/personnel changes, and other material changes within the asset/protocol.
  • Build systems to detect and disseminate timely updates for supported assets, and perform related research on those updates.
  • Nurture relationships with XFN teams such as Product, Engineering, Legal, Compliance, & Security who triage, respond, and remedy to high impact incidents.
  • Evaluate ways to scale our monitoring initiatives using automation and third-parties which do not compromise on quality or thoroughness.
  • Conduct external calls with asset issuers and developers to help teams understand details related to our monitoring.
  • Maintain a strong pulse on asset/protocol metrics, social sentiment, and emerging crypto narratives. Write and distribute crypto reports/recommendations to help inform our listings strategy using both quantitative and qualitative information.

What we look for in you (ie. job requirements):

  • 3 - 5 years of relevant experience with a proven track record of exceeding goals.
  • An unrelenting passion for crypto and a robust onchain resume.
  • An entrepreneurial, results-driven mindset with humility and self-awareness.
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills; adept at listening and synthesizing complex technical issues concisely.
  • Experience managing complex projects across internal stakeholders through clear communication and a constant focus on operational excellence.
  • Strong analytical skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Prior experience scaling a product or process.
  • Ability to convey complex information effectively across the organization and build consensus across teams.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in unstructured situations, with the ability to drive ambiguous issues to clarity and resolution.

Nice to haves:

  • Computer Science, Economics, and/or Mathematics Degrees.
  • Experience with CRM systems.
  • Ability to write SQL/equivalent queries, perform spreadsheet analyses, and create/consume crypto native dashboards.
  • Active crypto content creator through public channels like X, Mirror, Farcaster, etc.
  • Ability to analyze blockchain transactions to detect anomalies, track funds, and identify suspicious activity using onchain data and analytics tools.
