About This Role – Associate, Project Management
The Associate will join the Enterprise Project Management Office (“EPMO”), which is part of Strategy & Corporate Development, and will be responsible for the oversight and execution of PMO processes.
EPMO conducts end-to-end project management of complex and high-visibility projects that are company-wide, cross-functional, and/or cross-business in nature. The Associate will work with a wide range of internal stakeholders to champion projects across the entire organization, helping with the development of detailed work plans, schedules, estimates, resource plans, and status reports. The candidate should have a strong background working on projects in the financial industry and an in-depth knowledge of PMO best practices, processes, and related methodologies.
Responsibilities
- Build project plans and lead the execution of key transversal projects that span multiple departments or functions (projects will vary, including for example regulatory licensing; regulatory findings management; business partnerships; systems implementation; etc.)
- Ensure that projects are appropriately managed within timelines and budget and that deliverables meet baseline requirements for business needs
- Maintain a current view of industry-leading practices for project management and propose and implement enhancement on an as-needed basis
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, processes, and controls for the EPMO team
- Managing priorities and execution order to ensure successful end-to-end delivery of programs
- Escalate unresolved issues impacting Genesis projects to senior management including recommendations to deliver projects on time, within budget, and against scope
- Oversee and approve a monthly report on key company initiatives, presented to the senior leadership team by PMO
Technical Skills
- Advanced in Microsoft Suite, including PowerPoint and Excel
- Experience with PMO tools and risk management solutions
- Experience implementing agile methodologies
- Experience with data analytics, and data visualizations tools (a plus)
Requirements
- Undergraduate degree in Finance, Business, or another related area
- 4 to 6 years of experience in Project Management, Consulting, or Operations
- 3+ years of direct work experience in financial services or capital markets
- Knowledge of broker-dealers, financial holding companies, exchanges, and other types of financial institutions and market infrastructure providers
- Knowledge of regulatory requirements regarding financial institutions
- Certification in Project Management is a plus (i.e. PMP, Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt, etc)
