Web3 BizOps Lead

Compensation: $54k - $100k estimated

Our mission at XMTP is to build an open, crypto-native communication protocol that connects communities, applications, and users. As a senior software engineer at XMTP you'll build mission-critical software that will help us achieve that goal.

We want someone who is ready to help the entire organization work better together. This role is the first hire in this area of the business and will be responsible for everything from systems and tools, communication and implementation of new workflows, and making sure the entire team and community is working together seamlessly.
The mission of the BizOps Lead is to partner company-wide to provide insight, analysis and operational capability to drive growth and scale of our business. Members of this team will gain exposure and drive impact across all facets of our company, embedding within cross-functional teams and working collaboratively to identify and tackle some of our most complex (and interesting) strategic and operational challenges.
As one of the first members of the Ops team, you will be instrumental in shaping the future of the function and the overall business. You will work directly with the founders and core team, and you will partner with all leaders across XMTP.

Responsibilities:

  • Structuring, analyzing and making concrete recommendations to solve complex strategic and operational challenges.
  • Defining, designing and introducing scalable processes and use of data to support strong decision-making companywide.
  • Leading cross-functional strategy and operational projects.
  • Developing insight into our fast-evolving market(s) and distilling regularly for XMTP leadership.
  • Supporting both organic and inorganic growth companywide.
  • Building remote-first and async operations that keeps everyone in sync without the need for another meeting

This role is for you if:

  • You are highly analytical: able to structure and dive deeply into strategic and operational problem spaces. You are able to distill and anchor on first principles.
  • You are a strong communicator : skilled at relaying complex topics across a variety of audiences (executive and peer-level, technical and non-technical). We are remote-first and headquartered on the internet, so will place a premium on strong written communication skills.
  • You are a natural collaborator: able to build strong relationships, and skilled bringing teams together to drive impact
  • You have a passion for solving tough problems and a desire to do whatever it takes to get things done:strong ability to work effectively in a highly-dynamic environment is a huge plus.
  • You are fascinated by new ways for people to connect and communicate in a decentralized way

You might have done the following in the last 3-7 years:

  • Business operations or corporate strategy in a high-growth environment.
  • Investment banking or venture capital.
  • Strategy / management consulting.
  • Product management or a related GTM function within a dynamic industry.
