Data Privacy Specialist Summary

You will be responsible for engineering, implementation, and maintenance of the privacy program that ensures that Kongregate is compliant with regulatory obligations. You will collaborate with legal and product development teams and deploy privacy features for all products. You will also work on data protection policies, risk assessment, auditing and monitoring, including consulting on projects, performing training, and coordinating information with other corporate entities.

Data Privacy Specialist Responsibilities

• Lead the development, engineering, and maintenance of company privacy and data protection policies, processes and standards that address privacy and data protection regulations.
• Creating, implementing, and maintaining appropriate frameworks concerning data protection; working with primarily web platforms
• Interact with various teams to implement data protection solutions, define system requirements and/or necessary modifications to new or existing software.
• Develop processes and lead response to data subject rights requests and response to privacy incidents.
• Acting as a point of contact for employees and business partners of the company for data protection matters;
• Conduct Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIA) and document the process
• Develop action plans, following up and closing out all gaps and outstanding issues
  

You Have

• Experience with software engineering; ideally implementing and managing compliance projects and programs inside Ruby on Rails or similar web application framework
• Experience in data privacy and data management technologies – experience using OneTrust a plus
• Background in compliance or legal work useful, GDPR and COPPA knowledge a key advantage
• Knowledge of technologies used to collect, share, access and use personal data such as cookies, web beacons, data warehouse, and web analytic and decision support software.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field of study preferred
• Proactive, solution-focused and able to assess legal risks in a commercial manner
• Excellent organizational and communication skills, including presentation development and training
• Able to interact with people from different backgrounds with ability to translate compliance language into lay person’s terms and understanding.
