Join our Finance team as a Procurement Specialist to play a crucial role in optimising our direct procurement. This role will focus on improving hardware gross margin by reducing costs related to hardware development and manufacturing, fulfilling business requirements, all while effectively managing supplier risks. The ideal candidate possesses a strong analytical mindset, excellent negotiation skills, and a proven track record of success in direct procurement operations, preferably in consumer electronic goods.
Your Mission:
● Ensure cost-effective acquisition and margin performance
○ Collect and analyze spend, margin data, market insights, to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities for cost savings and margin performance
○ Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including Hardware, Supply Chain and Operations, to align sourcing strategies with product roadmaps and business objectives
○ Implement the procurement strategies: sourcing, tendering, negotiation, selection, contract negotiation
○ Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure competitive pricing, favorable terms, and optimal service levels, encompassing all aspects of order conditions, including delivery payment terms
○ Track and report on cost savings achieved, demonstrating the value and impact of procurement initiatives
○ Provide procurement support and guidance to internal stakeholders, ensuring alignment and understanding of procurement processes and policies
● Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to secure the best possible terms and conditions
○ Together with Legal, make sure the agreements reflect the pricing negotiated with suppliers, covers the business requirements, protect intellectual property, and include key indicators performance to monitor the whole
○ Escalate business issues to vendor when required
○ Participate in conflict resolution
○ Organize business reviews with suppliers and business stakeholders
● Identify opportunities and mitigate risks associated with suppliers
○ Develop and implement robust risk mitigation strategies to ensure supply chain continuity and effectively manage potential disruptions
○ Participate in industry intelligence: stay up-to-date on and report industry trends, market fluctuations that could impact the business
○ Together with legal, ensure vendor adherence to all relevant company policies, legal regulations, and ethical procurement practices
○ Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with suppliers, including compliance & ethics, financial instability
○ Propose and implement a supplier audit strategy
● Continuously improve the procurement process and tools to achieve cost operational efficiency
○ Identify opportunities for procurement process and tools continuous improvement, and participate in their implementation
● Data analysis and reporting: Analyze spend data and generate ad-hoc reports for senior management or other departments.
What we’re looking for:
● Bachelor’s degree or master in Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
● 2+ years of experience in a procurement role, with a focus on direct procurement
● Proven track record of success in negotiating contracts, managing suppliers, and driving cost savings
● Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and draw meaningful insights
● Excellent communication, interpersonal, and negotiation skills in both French and English languages
● Knowledge of contract law and procurement best practices
● Experience in consumer electronics good
