Web3 Finance Manager for Australia

About the Role

As the Finance Manager for Australia, reporting to the VP of Finance, you will be responsible for all accounting required to prepare the financial statements locally, as required, and to support the reporting requirements for the consolidated GAAP financial statements for the parent company located in the USA. The Controller’s main duties include setting up the accounting processes to support the Australia and Asia Pacific operations including managing payments, collections, taxes and the monthly close process.

Responsibilities

• Record and maintain accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll processes.
• Ensure the accounting processes are operating in accordance with Company policies and procedures.
• Raise accounting transaction issues with management.
• Maintain the Company’s financial statements in compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
• Assist management with important financial statement reporting decisions as the Company grows.
• Issue monthly and annual local and GAAP financial statements as required.
• Support management in preparing financial forecasts and projections.

Requirements (Skills and Qualifications)

• More than eight years’ experience preparing accurate GAAP compliant financial statements.
• Strong and in depth understanding of GAAP.
• Attention to detail in reviewing accounting transactions and financial statements.
• Able to communicate effectively with colleagues and management about the financial statements.
• Experience in implementing policies and procedures to comply with new legal or regulatory requirements.
• Experience in managing and developing staff.
• Bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting preferred.
• Fluent in English.

Preferred (Optional)

• Previous experience in a similar role.
• Experience in a high growth organization.
