Responsibilities
- Design and optimize network infrastructure: Implement and tune high-speed network systems to support ultra-low-latency trading applications and services.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues: Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex network infrastructure problems to ensure maximum availability and performance.
- Operational support: Provide day-to-day support for both network and application environments, monitoring connectivity and responding to alerts or incidents as needed.
- Technology evaluation: Continuously evaluate emerging networking technologies and service providers (hardware, software, or carriers) to keep our trading infrastructure cutting-edge and cost-effective.
- Travelling across multi-sites within APAC and the US is required for the position.
- Willing to perform hands-on data center work, including installation, maintenance, and break-fix support for hardware such as network switches, firewalls, and servers.
Qualifications
- Cisco networking expertise: Extensive experience with Cisco Catalyst (IOS) and Nexus (NX-OS) switches, including configuration and management.
- Firewall proficiency: Proven ability to configure and manage Fortinet FortiGate firewall platforms.
- Layer 2 protocols: Strong understanding of Layer 2 switching protocols such as VLANs, Spanning Tree (STP), and Link Aggregation (LACP).
- Routing protocols: Solid grasp of routing protocols including OSPF and BGP, and first-hop redundancy protocols (FHRP) such as HSRP/VRRP.
- VPN technologies: In-depth knowledge of IPsec VPN and SSL VPN architectures and configurations.
- Data center networking: Familiarity with data center features such as Virtual Port Channels (vPC) for enhanced redundancy and throughput.
- Network troubleshooting: Skilled in using a variety of troubleshooting tools and methodologies to diagnose and resolve network issues in production environments.
- Problem-solving: Proven ability to quickly identify root causes and implement fixes for complex network problems under pressure.
- Automation and scripting: Experience with network automation tools and scripting (e.g. Ansible, Python, shell scripting) to improve operational efficiency.
- Wireless networking: Understanding of wireless networking concepts and best practices for enterprise Wi-Fi environments.
- Familiarity with server hardware and the Linux operating system, including basic configuration via command line, troubleshooting, and system-level interactions.
Preferred
- High-performance networks: Proven expertise deploying large-scale, high-performance computing (HPC) network infrastructure using RDMA over Converged Ethernet (RoCEv2).
- Advanced networking technologies: Hands-on experience with cutting-edge network technologies such as dark fiber (DWDM) optical networks, advanced QoS implementation, and multicast routing.
- Additional certifications: Cisco CCNP/CCIE or comparable certifications in routing/switching are a plus.
