Web3 Lead Protocol Engineer

• Participate in and oversee a team of engineers dedicated to building Zero core protocols
• Hands on Leader and Core part of the protocol team, developing smart contracts on Ethereum with emphasis on security and efficient protocol design
• Lead discussions around protocol technical challenges and be able to make technical tradeoffs between competing performance and protocol requirements
• Lead the engineering team to a high level of technical productivity, reliability, and simplicity—build and maintain a consistent culture of high quality delivery
• Manage team member career development by coaching and mentoring engineers through continuous feedback, goal setting and development plans
• Collaborate closely with product team to set engineering priorities
  
  

• 3+ years of people management experience at a high-growth startup
• Strong working knowledge of cryptocurrency protocols
• Experience building crypto/web3 products specifically in the Ethereum ecosystem—experience in Solidity required
• Experience recruiting and building high-performing geographically distributed engineering teams
• Ability to balance protocol design with user needs during product roadmap conversations
• The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment in a rapidly evolving, cutting edge industry
• Clear and persuasive writing and in-person communication
