Web3 Legal Counsel

We've assembled a world-class team of passionate builders pulling top talent from both scrappy startups and industry tech giants. We're looking for Legal Counsel to assist with risk analysis, product design, and a host of novel issues in crypto and NFT law and who is passionate about the NFT/blockchain gaming space. This is a real chance to become a thought leader with the support of an amazing cross functional team.

Responsibilities:
- Advise on securities law compliance matters related to digital assets and cryptocurrencies, including but not limited to securities offerings, trading, and registration requirements.
- Advise on Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) and Anti-Money Laundering (AML) compliance, and other regulatory compliance matters related to digital assets.
- Advise on startup corporate governance and financing matters.
- Advise on intellectual property law matters related to the company's digital assets and related technologies, including patent and trademark applications, licensing, and enforcement.
- Monitor legal developments in the crypto industry and provide guidance to the company on potential impact on its business activities.
- Advise on tax-related issues related to digital assets, including but not limited to tax treatment of digital asset transactions and reporting obligations.
- Review, draft and negotiate legal documents and contracts, including SAFTs, investment agreements, and partnership agreements.
- Draft and negotiate a variety of legal agreements and contracts related to the company's business activities.

What you bring:
- 3-6 years of experience as a practicing attorney in the United States
- Experience working in the crypto/blockchain space, specifically with securities law, BSA, tax, and IP law
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly and effectively communicate legal advice to non-legal stakeholders
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and assess legal risks and develop effective strategies to mitigate those risks
- Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams, including senior management, product, engineering, and marketing
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, rapidly-evolving environment
- Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school

The base salary for this position will vary based on geography and other factors. The base salary range for this role is $160,000 - $200,000. Additionally, this role is eligible to participate in Magic Eden’s equity plan. Final offer amount will be at the company’s sole discretion and determined by multiple factors, including years and depth of experience and expertise, location and other business considerations.
