Lists, Rankings and Special Projects Editor
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking an entrepreneurial editor to push forward CoinDesk’s special projects calendar. The candidate will have at least three years experience as a reporter/ editor. Candidate has a proven ability to think creatively about media, working across departments including editorial, marketing, social media and administration.
The candidate does not need to know crypto, but a strong curiosity about the topic is vital.
This individual will report directly to Ben Schiller, Managing Editor for Features at CoinDesk.
The ideal candidate is ambitious, collaborative and ready to roll up their sleeves as CoinDesk continues to scale.
RESPONSIBILITES:
- Help manage CoinDesk’s existing editorial calendar, including 14 “Theme Weeks” scheduled for 2022.
- Develop CoinDesk’s “Top Universities for Blockchain” ranking, our authoritative analysis of 230 higher education institutions worldwide.
- Conceive and drive forward CoinDesk’s new “Work” special projects.
- Be a demon with Airtable, Google Form surveys and interested in visualization and illustration.
ABOUT YOU
- Preternatural organizational skills.
- Must have at least three years journalism experience at a recognized and professional institution, preferably in business, finance or tech
- Must be organized, hard working and detail-orientated.
- No prior knowledge of the blockchain/crypto industry required, but candidate must be interested in the future of money, the politics of trust, and the many possibilities of decentralized computing
- Must have the ability to develop sources and helpful relationships across the blockchain/crypto industry
- Possesses a pithy, conversational writing >
- Ability to edit the work of CoinDesk staff, so the content is factually sound while easy to digest.
