Web3 People Operations & Culture Assistant

Compensation: $54k - $100k estimated

Location: Porto District Porto Portugal

Applied Blockchain is an innovative applications development company focused on distributed ledger and confidential computing technologies. Based at Level39, Europe’s largest Fintech accelerator in London’s Canary Wharf, and in Porto, Portugal, Applied Blockchain is an expert team creating cutting-edge solutions for disruptive startups and corporate clients in financial services, energy, aviation, automotive, shipping, telecommunications and social impact sectors. Our clients already include Shell (also an investor in the company), KLM, Lloyds Register, Toyota, United Nations and we’re advising the UK Government. We are building a new generation of decentralised and confidential solutions, working through some of the most interesting technical problems in this field such as identity management, transaction anonymity, encryption, cryptography and data security.

Reporting to the People Operations & Culture Manager, this role will provide direct support to the recruitment process, but also be involved in employer branding and general people's processes implementation. This is a junior position that will allow this person to have the opportunity of joining a fast-paced, professional, warm and tech environment.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing prospective candidates from different sources, assist with the recruitment process of candidates so that we keep developing a pool of engaged, active and passive talents.
  • Help establish and organize new people & culture events and policies making the bridge between all the areas of the company (sales, marketing, operations, etc).
  • Improve our employer branding using different channels and suggest new initiatives.
  • Support and improve together with the People Operations & Culture Manager, main processes in the company, such as training, mentorship programmes, etc
  • Experience in recruitment/HR between 6 months to 1 year and half.
  • Degree in Human Resources or Psychology.
  • Fluency in Portuguese and English (mandatory).
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint) or Google Docs equivalents.
  • Excellent communicator.
  • Enthusiasm, drive, hands-on mindset and a willingness to learn are all essential.
  • Ability to think creatively, deal with ambiguity and overcome difficult problems.
  • A proactive and positive “can do” attitude where nothing is too hard - if you don’t know how to do something, you’ll find out.

Nice to have:

  • Previous experience in tech startups.
  • Previous experience in IT recruitment.
  • Familiarity using LinkedIn, Workable and Zoom.
