THE POSITION

We are seeking a hands-on People Ops manager to support the CoinDesk Indices business.

As we strive to create a common culture and goals for CoinDesk, we are looking to empower a mindful, innovative and creative People Ops Manager to help us build and maintain a uniform People function for the growing CoinDesk Indices population.

This role reports to the VP, People & HR.

The following includes an overview of the various responsibilities of the role. Of course as with any growing organization, this is subject to change and we encourage you to #startyourownengine if there are other aspects of the People function you believe are imperative to the success of the organization.

Onboarding

  • Improve onboarding processes and support stakeholders as they bring on new members to the team.
  • Perform 30-60-90 day check ins with staff to glean meaningful insights and feedback.

Policies

  • Support creation, implementation and enforcement of PTO, Parental Leave, Flexible Work and other policies at CoinDesk.

PEO Management

  • Manage relationship with Trinet (and open enrollment, key filing dates, etc).
  • Manage relationship with international PEOs

Employee Relations

  • Serve as main POC for personnel, acting as their advocate for their entire employee life cycle - starting with 30-60-90 day check ins
  • Escalate issues as appropriate

Employee Engagement

  • Run bi-annual surveys, perform analysis, provide input on action items to address ‘red-zone’ areas
  • Employee wellness initiatives - such as Thriver/Thrive Global, etc.
  • Ritualize and standardize the celebration of birthdays, anniversaries and other milestones.

Return to Office Planning

  • Work with VP, People to create an environment that is inclusive and optimizes for productivity whether remote or onsite across CoinDesk and CoinDesk Indices

Onboarding/Offboarding Logistics

  • Create and end-to-end seamless onboarding and offboarding process working with stakeholders across the organization

Legal

  • Maintain relationships with legal to ensure our policies, practices, procedures are in compliance and up to date.

Immigration

  • Handle all immigration cases for CoinDesk/TradeBlock

Systems & Tools Management

  • Charthop: Org management
  • Bamboo HR: HRIS
  • Pyn: Employee communications
  • Trinet: Benefits & US Employee Reporting, I9 onboarding
  • 7Geese/Lattice: Performance Management

Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging

  • Represent People function in DEIB efforts, lead initiatives, spearhead project, liaise between committee and executive sponsor

Training & Development

  • Implement internal online training tool for ‘self-service’ use
  • Implement processes for Training & Development requests such as sponsoring certifications, classes, etc.
  • Inter-team training to create cohesion, enhance teamwork, etc.

Goal Setting, OKRs & Continuous Performance Development

  • Facilitating process, produce documentation
  • Manage quarterly performance check ins
  • Facilitate year end process - produce timeline, action items, conduct training, set deadlines, enforce actions

Preferred Qualifications

We understand that not all candidates possess every single attribute and requirement listed; we’re looking for a well rounded candidate who isn’t afraid to tackle the tactical and pivot to the strategic elements of talent acquisition as well.

  • 5-7 years of related experience working in HR, preferably at a high growth startup in media/fin tech
  • You have 3+ years of experience serving as an HR business partner in some capacity
  • Understand People Operations, experience implementing people ops initiatives and programs
  • Experience working with 1 or more recruiting technologies such bambooHR, Trinet, Charthop, etc.
  • Effectively handles highly sensitive and confidential matters
  • Uses sound judgment and discretion in managing employee relations
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate with all audiences, especially internally across the organization
  • High skilled social media capabilities from an employment branding perspective
  • Knowledge of best practices with people ops strategies and statutory compliance
  • You are patient, compassionate and willing to do whatever it takes to deliver results!
