Web3 Risk Assessment Manager

Job Brief Summary

Prime Trust is seeking aRisk AssessmentManagerto join the Compliance Risk Management team and support the development and implementation of the compliance risk management framework. Job functions include:

  • Assisting with the development of a responsive, efficient, and forward-thinking compliance program,
  • Adapting to the unique compliance requirements of innovative and, often, first-of-their-kind business initiatives, and
  • Supporting a variety of measures designed to support ongoing compliance with laws and regulations and established policies and procedures.

Job Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and perform regulatory compliance assessments to identify and mitigate compliance risks and provide guidance on regulatory expectations, industry norms, and appropriate controls
  • Refine and oversee risk monitoring and testing functions of key processes and controls to evaluate Prime Trust's practices against its policies and procedures ensuring they remain adequate and effective
  • Prepare detailed and summary reporting. Communicate issues and recommended actions in a timely manner to compliance management and/or other internal stakeholders where appropriate and be forward-thinking on ways to drive efficiencies across reporting and regular tasks
  • Provides input in design of the risk management function to incorporate compliance risk metrics
  • Propose practical and technological solutions to compliance issues, balancing efficiency, and the regulatory climate
  • Strategically partner and maintain strong working relationships with cross-functional stakeholders
  • Work with various levels of the company to ensure that applicable regulatory processes and controls are established, documented, and adhered to within the appropriate areas of responsibility
  • Conducts periodic risk-based monitoring and analyze the effectiveness of all aspects of the existing compliance program, and recommend and implement enhancements
  • Maintain up to date knowledge on regulatory changes and industry landscape.
  • Be a subject matter expert and provide expertise, oversight, guidance, and advice on regulatory requirements that affect other Prime Trust teams
  • Assist in managing regulatory and compliance activities for the company, ensuring that effective policies and controls are in place and that all risks are identified and appropriately addressed as we continue to scale
  • Assist with ad hoc special projects as needed to support the growing compliance department, e.g., analysis, regulatory examinations, audits, and third-party reviews as necessary

Experience and Requirements

  • 3+ years leadership and management experience
  • 6+ years working in compliance or a relevant function within financial services, capital markets, or fintech, preferably with a financial institution, payments organization, or regulatory agency
  • This includes a high-level understanding of financial services industry standards, processes, regulations, and compliance risk assessments
  • Experience with risk assessment, risk management fundamentals and how they apply to financial, regulatory, or operational processes
  • Strong research, compliance assessment, and report-writing skills
  • Strong ability to analyze and synthesize complex information and make clear, concise, and actionable recommendations
  • Understanding of laws and regulations in a highly regulated industry, preferably banking, payments, virtual currency, anti-money laundering, counter-terrorist financing, and sanctions laws, regulations, and regulatory guidance.
  • You should be fascinated with crypto, excited about its potential, and aware of its risks. Prior experience with crypto is a nice to have but not a requirement
  • Demonstrated ability to conceptualize and implement new strategies and processes supporting the business
  • High degree of initiative and ability to meet expectations with limited direction and oversight
  • Strong ability to work in a fast-paced, high-growth, and dynamic environment
  • Skilled in relationship-building, influence management, decision-making, and ability to unify diverse interests across stakeholders

Education

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Advanced degree a plus (M.S. in Risk Management, MBA)
  • CAMS, CRCM, or other relevant compliance certification preferred, but not a prerequisite
