Web3 Risk Associate/VP, Trading

About You

Our trading business, Galaxy Digital Trading (“GDT”), provides spot, derivate, and financing liquidity to institutional clients, counterparties and venues that transact in cryptocurrencies and other digital assets. GDT provides access to a number of globally traded cryptocurrencies to many unique clients and counterparties across a full suite of service offerings, including: over-the-counter (“OTC”) spot liquidity provision, on- exchange liquidity provision, OTC options and trading, and bespoke lending and structured product offerings. GDT also engages in proprietary quantitative, arbitrage and macro trading strategies.

Candidate sought for risk manager role within Galaxy's risk management team. The candidate should have prior work experience in risk management and deep knowledge of digital assets. Your role is to collaborate with portfolio managers and traders on portfolio construction, investment and risk analysis and ensure that the CRO and senior management is informed of the risks.

On a given day at Galaxy, you will:

• Collaborate with CRO and Risk managers to establish risk management framework for Galaxy’s Trading businesses
• Identify, measure and manage market and operational risks across Galaxy’s multiple business lines
• Leverage on-chain information to enable data driven decision making and risk management
• Build tools to extract information from DeFi protocols
• Assist in the development and maintenance of systems to calculate risk metrics
• Communicate with risk takers to assess positions and volatility
• Produce risk reports for risk takers, risk managers and senior management
• Analyze, assess, visualize and report risks to CRO and senior management
• Monitor risks across multiple time zones

You’ve worked hard for:

• 2+ years of experience (finance or development)
• Deep knowledge of Digital Assets and DeFi
• Degree in finance, computer science or other quantitative subjects
• Experience in Python, SQL, Excel and Tableau
• Good communication skills and is a critical thinker

You might also have:

• Experience with financial data and processes
• Knowledge of market
