Senior Analytics Engineer, Products Analytics (Crypto)

In order to drive innovation faster and be more customer-centric, the Data Insights team is looking for a passionate Senior Analytics Engineer who will build analytics pipelines to support the scalability of complex business data marts and implement new data models. The person will develop and maintain the key pipelines that help our Data Scientists and business stakeholders to build product insights and help scale and automate them with new solutions.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Build, enhance, maintain and manage ETL pipelines that transform data from various external sources, storing it in highly optimized database systems, and making it useful to our reporting layers
  • Create automation systems and tools to configure, monitor, and orchestrate ETL pipelines
  • Maintain ongoing reliability, performance, and support of the data infrastructure, providing solutions based on application needs and anticipated growth
  • Identify and resolve performance and scalability issues, troubleshoot problems, and improve product quality
  • Troubleshoot data issues and enable power users and other stakeholders who develop self-service data analysis on behalf of their divisions
  • Closely partner with Staff Engineer for business data mart models
  • Work closely with Data Science colleagues to help operationalize business logic into scalable data marts
  • Build and strengthen partnership with business stakeholders and enable them to build self service analytics
  • Ability to communicate complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to audiences from fellow analysts to senior executive level
  • History of working with Business Analyst/Product Managers
  • Record of preemptive communication and documentation strategies favoring self-service education

WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 5+ years of demonstrated success in sourcing, transforming, and optimizing data from divergent sources.
  • No management experience necessary, but a passion for mentoring and learning leadership qualities is desirable.
  • You are an expert in creating data warehouse solutions leveraging best practices for continuous improvement, in addition to possessing expert SQL, DDL, and DML knowledge.
  • You are highly skilled in scheduling, dependency management, and optimization.
  • Have basic to intermediate level of Python or other scripting languages in order to help data analysts and data scientists, among other partners, optimize data models.
  • You will have an acute understanding of data warehouse modeling techniques and experience using cloud-based data warehouse technologies such as GCP Big Query or Snowflake.
  • Through your work in data warehousing, you have expanded and improved either the data warehouse set, utilization, and/or business performance.
  • You’re also familiar with GCP or similar cloud solutions
  • You have worked in orchestration of ETL processes using Airflow or Similar tools
  • Worked with version control softwares like GIT or similar tools
  • Ability to work in a fast paced, ever changing, start-up environment
  • Team player combined with a positive attitude
  • Problem solver who never stops thinking about ways to improve
  • You do all this, while also contributing to an engaging data team culture. While not required, experience with Tableau or similar tools are desirable.
