BitMEX is hiring a Web3 Senior Risk Manager
Compensation: $70k - $100k estimated
Location: Hong Kong
The Role
In your role as Senior Risk Manager you will be reporting directly to our Chief Risk Officer and get the opportunity to drive and build the risk management framework for and across our fast growing business lines in this exciting, future-defining industry.
Responsibilities
- Designing and implementing an overall risk management process for a fast growing organisation multiple risk leavers such as strategic, technological, financial or operational.
- Performing a risk assessment and evaluation: Analysing current risks and identifying potential risks that are affecting the company
- Recommend and implement risk policies and monitoring/mitigation processes, as appropriate for emerging businesses and risks.
- Collaborate with business partners (product, coverage, operations, legal, etc.) to resolve complex client and product challenges.
- Actively engage in the product design process, in order to influence and mitigate inherent structural risks during the development phase.
- Establishing the level of risk / risk appetite the company is willing to take
- Risk reporting tailored to the relevant audience from board of directors to leads of business units.
- Defining, implementing and rehearsing business continuity plans
- Conducting policy and compliance audits, which will include liaising with internal and external auditors
- Reviewing of new major contracts or internal business proposals
- Building risk awareness amongst staff by providing support and training within the company
Requirements
- Minimum of 10 years’ experience in corporate risk management at a global financial institution or reputable risk consulting firm.
- 2+ years of experience in a risk related function with a Digital Asset / Cryptocurrency service provider is not mandatory but a strong advantage
- Meaningful experience managing risk for secured lending, prime brokerage and/or derivatives products.
- Able to work hands on and balance strategic focus with tactical implementation and efficient execution.
- Strong quantitative skills and understanding of capital markets products.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Self-starter with commercial business insight. Able to interact, influence and build relationships at all levels of seniority and across all functions within an organization.
- Enjoyment and fun in analysing, evaluating and forming independent judgments, and challenging the status quo for better outcomes.
