As the Director of Finance and first finance hire, you will have an opportunity to build the finance organization from scratch for the fastest growing Web3 talent marketplace today. In this role you will manage overall financial operations and reporting, financial statements and accounting, financial systems, and work closely with the co-founders on strategic finance. You will be core to creating our culture around financial rituals and rigor and building out the team to support our exponential growth and be a catalyst for change where needed across different functions.

Areas of Focus:
While we are looking for someone with a strong FP&A background, you also need to be comfortable in a high growth environment where you will be building FP&A from the ground up. You will build out a function that enables us to understand our current and future financial situation as well as be a strategic thought partner to the leadership team. You will be responsible for understanding, monitoring and enhancing our processes and systems to ensure the financial health of our network.
Your Responsibilities
- Design, build and roll out departmental and company FP&A activities that will include: financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting/ expense management, headcount planning, and mid/long term financial pro-formas
- Partner with and drive critical financial insights alongside our executive, business and product teams to influence decisions that can drive and scale us towards a highly profitable company
- Develop a robust reporting process to ensure accurate month-end close with accounting and to provide actionable insights to leadership across the organization in a timely manner
- Monitor and manage all aspects of the company's cash flow
- Partner with the data team (once in place) to identify critical business levers and to improve forecasting accuracy
- Identify opportunities and solutions to improve finance team our processes including new tools and systems
- Provide cost/benefit comparisons and assist with decision making related to growth, capital structure, and new products expansion
- Support fundraising (debt and token sale) efforts + corporate finance strategy (M&A and investments) by managing due diligence processes, communications, and preparation of materials
- 10+ years experience in FP&A or strategic finance roles - investment banking, investing (VC or PE) accounting and / or marketplace experience are a plus
- Extensive experience conducting quantitative/ financial analysis and developing recommendations based on this analysis
- Experience in taking FP&A from 0 to 1 building up systems, processes, etc from scratch
- A deep understanding of financial principles including US GAAP, best practices, and marketplace business levers/KPIs
- Business partnership experience at the executive level and the ability to collaborate cross functional to summarize information and effectively communicate to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Experience navigating through ambiguity of blue-sky thinking and undefined financial data problems.
- An excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods.
- Familiar with accounts receivable and payables
