Role: Research Associate
Full-time, Fully Remote

Future Africa is an early stage venture fund that connects investors to mission-driven founders who are turning Africa’s most difficult challenges into global businesses. JOB REQUIREMENTS

• Ability to work remotely (with weekly meetings in the West Africa Time zone) with fast wifi; plus occasional travel
• Experience working with/in multiple African startups or venture capital firms
• Experience crafting and presenting data visualizations to executives
• Work samples that demonstrate research best practices, proficiency in database management, analytical rigour and attention to detail

RESPONSIBILITIES

In this role, you'll often find yourself...

• Bringing order and structure to wise but scattered research-related ideas and concepts collected from various teammates
• Conducting primary and secondary research
• Gathering, cleaning, and warehousing data
• Analyzing, visualizing and presenting data-driven insights
• Turning research insights into ideas for product features and upgrades
• Coordinating time and resources to lead and deliver on research initiatives

You love studying how venture capital and startups are shaping the world. You're a skilled researcher and meticulously attend to details before presenting any findings or insights. You're always trying to find or build solutions to expedite and optimize data collection and analysis.

You're a process perfectionist
You can't help but look for ways to improve processes and practices. You seek out not just small, iterative improvements, but also large leaps that are worth making. Most of all, you love using data to drive consensus in a team and then work with them to implement and track them.

You're a data viz wiz
You love slicing and dicing the data. Pivot tables delight you. And more than that, you know how to present those findings in compelling ways that enable people to quickly understand the information, gain insights, and make better decisions.
