Ideal Candidate:
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience as Compliance Officer and/or Money Laundering Reporting Officer (“MLRO”) having previously worked for an established or start-up VASP, Electronic Money Issuer (“EMI”), or equivalent.
They should be familiar with applicable AML/CFT legislation and regulations. They will be able to own and maintain the compliance and financial crime programmes of the company, and be a proactive advocate for compliance. They will also be able to work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders to achieve their deliverables and comply with regulatory requirements.
NOTE: We are looking for someone with a hands-on approach who can be our knowledge expert in the region, working closely with the Global Compliance team and reporting to the Global MLRO, as well as provide on-the-ground assistance for other functions in the business as we scale up our business.
Responsibilities:
- Point of contact on AML/CFT and compliance topics with relevant regulatory authorities including, but not limited to, Lithuanian FIU, FCIS, Bank of Lithuania;
- Prepare and maintain Compliance and Financial Crime policies, procedures, risk assessments, risk registers, etc. Drive, promote and maintain a strong Compliance culture within the business;
- Lead the Compliance and Financial Crime function and be a focal point for the dissemination of information to/from company and Group stakeholders;
- Ensure the business operates an effective risk-based approach to Compliance and Financial Crime, which is relevant and proportionate to our business model, customer profile and products;
- Work with internal and external stakeholders to implement and maintain appropriate compliance procedures, systems and third party vendors;
- Proactively provide advice and guidance to the Business on new projects, products, services and other initiatives within the context of applicable AML/CFT regulations and Company risk appetite;
- Represent Risk & Compliance on Company Committees and provide appropriate MI and BI reports; including as a minimum a yearly MLRO Report to the Board of Directors;
- Identify all relevant regulatory developments in relation to Financial Crime, assess their impact and assist in developing action plans to mitigate the impact of change;
- Represent Compliance and provide second line of defence (2LoD) challenge to the Business through membership of applicable Governance Committees, including the production and oversight of any appropriate MI and BI;
- Lead the Compliance Monitoring Programme (CMP);
- Work across Merge Group risk & compliance activities under guidance of the Group MLRO.
Requirements:
- 3+ years experience in a similar or compliance role with a VASP, EMI or fintech;
- Certifications and qualifications: ACAMS, ICA qualification or similar is a plus;
- Should meet fit & proper criteria of regulatory authorities;
- Working language: English.
