Job Summary
The Camera Operator will provide live video for Crypto.com Arena, Microsoft Theater and LA Live Campus venues and events.
Essential Functions

  • Operate shoulder and/or fix lens camera during the show. Closely follow the action as requested, keeping picture in focus, and report any problems to the director or camera control operator.[Depending on the type of position for camera, this may involve lifting a heavy camera up and onto the shoulder to shoot video. Also, some handheld camera work requires both shoulder mount and sitting cross-legged on the floor of the basketball court while shooting the action.]
  • Setup and test equipment, properly using Triax cable system. Cables are plugged into the proper media panels located around the arena. Power for the camera is sent down the triax cable and testing all of the Ikegami camera functions including white balance, focus and zoom control are required before the first rehearsal. All testing is coordinated with the camera control system and communication is done through the headset connected directly to the camera.
  • Focus and video events using the mounted camera.

Required Qualifications (Job Knowledge, Skills, And Education)
  • A minimum education level of: High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred)
  • A minimum of 2-4 years of related work experience with High School Diploma or its equivalency (BA/BS Degree Preferred
  • Knowledge of the proper use and setup of the Ikagami and or Panasonic camera systems
  • Knowledge of the proper use of Triax cable and how to connect to both the camera and the media panel
  • Able to work in front of very large crowds
  • Able to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Able to adapt to sudden changes in requests for shots and positioning of camera
  • Must be a very organized and work well under pressure
  • Must work well in a team environment
  • Ability to work in various climates based on the environment
  • Ability to demonstrate dependability and reliability by being punctual, working assigned and varying shifts, and completing responsibilities in a timely manner are required
  • Must be able to lift and hold on shoulder up to 30 lbs. while seated on the ground
  • Must have the ability to stand, sit, crouch, and bend throughout the course of daily activities
  • Must have the ability to stand or sit in one location for a minimum of six hours at a time
  • Must have a flexible schedule, with the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays as needed

Preferred Qualifications (if Applicable)
  • Live sporting event shooting experience is preferred
  • Ice skating experience a plus
