Web3 CDTV Video Production Associate, CoinDesk

CoinDesk is looking for a Video Production Associate (PA) to work amongst its global editorial team. The Video PA should have an understanding of quality journalism and be creative and visually-focused storytellers ready to immerse themselves into the operations of a media website at the center of a fundamental transformation in the global economy, fueled by the rise of cryptocurrency, blockchain, and digital assets.

The Video PA will be exposed to many parts of the CoinDesk machine, including writing and producing many different kinds of stories: trending news, evergreen explainers, and original reporting. Senior editors and CoinDesk TV producers will guide the Video PA on the ins and outs of our 24-hour global newsroom, getting experience with pitching stories, finding and interviewing sources, storytelling across platforms, and creating videos for social media.

Responsibilities:

• Source and edit video and graphic pre-production elements for live and taped shows on CoinDesk TV
• Quick turnaround edits of VOD from programs
• Post-production work includes writing SEO’d headlines and descriptions for VOD and publish videos to CMS
• Curate and manage playlists on CoinDesk.com video landing pages
• Embed VOD content in related articles
• Work in coordination with social media team to promote videos as needed
• Help CDTV Booking Producer research stories and coordinate production logistics and schedule interviews for video stories
• Assist in organizing footage and transcribing video interviews
• Edit down interviews and assist on shoots
• Assist in shooting and editing various video content (including webinars, events, marketing promos etc.)
• Participate in rotating opportunities where applicable
• Work with show producers to brainstorm, pitch, book and produce editorially sound, visually compelling original video segments for CDTV (live or taped programs)

About you:

• Strong interest in business, finance, global economics, particularly the people and ideas behind digital assets, cryptocurrency and blockchain technology
• Exceptional writing skills and proven work in and/or outside the classroom
• Passion for visual storytelling
• Strong working knowledge and experience editing with Adobe Premiere; experience with After Effects and Illustrator a plus
• Experience shooting with high-quality DSLR cameras (Canon, Sony, Nikon)
• Familiarity with online Content Management Systems (Word Press, Arc)
• Social media savvy
• Excited by challenges and easily adapt to changing circumstances

• Ability to perform and thrive under deadline pressure
