CoinDesk Chinese-Language Content Producer

The Position:

CoinDesk is looking for a Chinese-language editor and operations lead to work within its international content team. This is a highly entrepreneurial position, so we are looking for a person who is willing to experiment and try new ideas! Applicants should be ambitious and ready to immerse themselves in the leading publication covering how cryptocurrency and blockchain technology are transforming the global economy.

Responsibilities:

• Daily management of and production of Chinese-language content on US hours
• Helping to host and produce a daily Chinese markets podcast
• Translating content for and operating our Chinese social media accounts on US hours
• Other translation tasks as needed
• Monitoring editorial schedule and publish breaking news in Chinese on social media
• Writing news stories in Chinese based on original English articles
• Searching for English CoinDesk TV clips that are interesting for a Chinese audience
• Appearing in Chinese-language videos
• Producing and subtitle videos (if possible)
• Coming up with ideas for new Chinese products and/or initiatives
• Setting up and operating a Chinese Telegram group
• Coming up with other ideas for Chinese content and community development
• Uploading Chinese articles into the CMS
• Other tasks as needed

About you:

• Writing talent through proven work
• Fluency in Mandarin Chinese and English
• Knowledge of blockchain and cryptocurrency strongly preferred
• Familiarity with online Content Management Systems and SEO
• Social media fluency
• Excited by challenges and easily adapt to changing circumstances
• Impeccable attention to detail
• Outstanding work ethic
• Self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, doesn’t need to wait for instructions
• Media experience
• Video editing experience preferred, not required
