Responsibilities:

  • Maintaining and improving Merge’s transaction monitoring methodology
  • Improving our client onboarding procedure
  • Supporting other business functions to ensure that they are in accordance with FCA regulations
  • Help us develop and improve our current AML program
  • Monthly reporting of AML risks to our board
  • Detecting suspicious activities and conducting appropriate SAR e-filing
  • Improving and executing our compliance monitoring program policies and procedures
  • Performing day-to-day client account reconciliation
  • Performing company risk assessments and client risk assessments
  • Providing AML and compliance guidance to other professionals within the business
  • Representing Merge in its communications with the FCA and other authorities in respect to AML/CTF matters
  • Responding to inquiries from government agencies
  • Arranging AML training for employees
  • Conducting due diligence on Merge’s service providers
  • Remaining abreast of new or amended regulations and laws related to AML and analysing their potential impact on Merge
  • Arranging third-party auditing reviews, overseeing their review, presenting the results to management, and implementing appropriate steps to comply with audit recommendations
  • Other relevant ad-hoc tasks.

Requirement:

  • +3 Years in Payments Industry (FCA approved person preferred)
  • CAMS or similar certificate/diploma is highly preferred
  • In depth knowledge of UK and EU compliance laws and regulations applicable to financial institutions (including without limitation, MLR 2017, PSR 2017, DPA 2018, JMLSC Guidance)
  • Strong transaction monitoring skills
  • Minimum of three years’ experience in a financial institution (e-money institution or an online payment services provider is preferred) regulated by FCA as a compliance officer/manager
  • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Google Sheets
  • Experience and ability to work independently without assistance of subordinates
  • Ability to prioritise work and meet deadlines
  • Positive and flexible attitude to taking on new challenges
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, highly organised
  • Excellent English writing and communication skills
