Web3 Content Scout

We’re building web3 technology to revolutionize how narrative universes are created. Our mission is to unleash an entirely new way to create, govern, and license IP on-chain, ultimately forming an ecosystem of “story legos” that can be remixed and composed.

However, most top storytelling franchises are controlled by a small handful of studios. They use their leverage to squeeze creators, build walls around their IPs, and treat fans like sources of revenue instead of like partners. This top-down approach prevents many narrative universes from realizing their potential, and it stops many hits from getting built at all.

Story Protocol allows creators to build narrative universes from the bottom up. It empowers the construction of imaginary worlds via open source principles –– the same way that humanity formed the first myths around the campfire, but with ownership and incentive models built-in.

At Story Protocol, we're showcasing the power of web3-native storytelling by creating a slate of internally developed franchises. We're partnering with writers to create incredible narrative experiences that share the best of storytelling with the best of fan ownership and participation. And we're exploring existing intellectual property that may be a strong foundation for these projects.

As a Content Scout, you will search for writers and for intellectual property that may be right for the Story Protocol ecosystem. In addition, you will reach out to writers and IP holders to pitch why they should partner with us.

Responsibilities

• Understand the strategic priorities of Story Protocol’s slate
• Identify writers with the right skillset, level of success, fandom, and collaborative ability to contribute to that slate; and reach out to them to pitch why they should do so
• Identify IPs that could be right for the slate, considering both their quantitative metrics (sales, reads, social media followers, etc) and their qualitative attributes (e.g. vastness of world, ability to support NFTs, quality of writing, etc)

Skills

• Highly attuned to media, especially sci-fi, fantasy, cyberpunk, anime, etc; voracious reader, consumer, and fan
• Ability to consider both quantitative and qualitative inputs
• Strong salesmanship
• Web 3 knowledge and hunger
• Existing connections to / comfort with Hollywood a significant plus
