Web3 Documentation Engineer

The Role

Alchemy's docs have evolved into a source of truth for anyone operating in the Web3 space. We’re on a mission to build the most comprehensive, user-friendly, and helpful documentation that exists for Web3 builders. As a documentation engineer at Alchemy, you will directly contribute to the documentation platform by building, writing, and testing documentation. You’ll work cross functionally with engineering, product managers, technical writers, designers, and speak directly with users to collect feedback and implement changes. You'll be proficient in both quantitive and qualitative analysis to measure the success of Alchemy's documentation overall.

Responsibilities:

  • Write new and maintain existing OpenAPI specs for all API references
  • QA test all components of docs to ensure they are user-friendly
  • Work with engineering, product, and customer success teams to document new features, products, and APIs in real-time
  • Collect user feedback on documentation and implement changes accordingly
  • Suggest high level changes in navigation, structure, and design
  • Analyze quantitative success metrics by looking at SEO, google analytics, and other platforms
  • Implement systems and build tools that make it easy to publish and update existing documentation
  • Build new features within docs to enhance external user experience
  • Represent a developer's perspective internally to ensure Alchemy’s documentation, APIs, SDKs, tutorials and other resources meet developer needs

What We're Looking For:

  • BS degree in computer science
  • Stellar written and verbal communication skills
  • Proven framework of listening to and understanding customers
  • 3+ years of experience in API documentation and technical writing
  • 1+ years of experience using OpenAPI
  • Experience documenting and using JSON-RPC requests
  • Familiarity with source control, git workflow, and using command-line
  • Familiarity writing in markdown
  • Experience coding in Web3
  • Experience at early stage startups is a large plus
  • Passion for blockchain technologies a plus
