Web3 Editor, Podcasts & Audio

THE ROLE

We are seeking a full time Editor who will lead the Audio & Podcasts team

This individual will report directly to the Head of Multimedia Content

The ideal candidate has experience leading teams developing multiple daily radio or podcast show concepts as well as working with and honing talent.

The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of and at least three years of enthusiast interest in or experience with Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The ideal candidate has high standards and is a skilled, fast, meticulous audio editor experienced with both multi-track and linear edit modes.

The candidate should be ambitious, collaborative, hard-working and ready to roll up their sleeves as the CoinDesk Podcast Network continues to rapidly grow.

RESPONSIBILITES

• Leadership

• Manage and assist a high-performing team of podcast producers.
• Maintain systems of quality controls and accountability for the department.
• Oversee and ensure continued strong performance of the networks’ already established and rapidly growing shows.
• Represent Podcasts in editorial meetings, surfacing opportunities for timely coverage and coordinating with other editorial divisions
• Mentor less experienced writers and editors on the eccentricities of cryptocurrency media, technology and markets.
• Track established key performance indicators, analyze & report data and industry trends.
• Be the ultimately responsible party for all aspects of shows/series from conception to production including assignment, research, sourcing & booking guests, pre-interviews, writing/reviewing scripts and honing show structure.
• Work with the Head of Multimedia to establish budgets and strategic planning for Audio/Podcasts products.
• Work with Sales to maintain high standards for content while maximizing sponsor revenue.
• Define and oversee execution of social promotions/social media strategy.

• Production

• Work with and hone talent to deliver best-performances
• Collaborate with wider editorial team and other internal stakeholders on various multimedia projects
• Work to identify new opportunities for existing and new CoinDesk brands.

• Audio Editing

• Have the ability to perform, lead the team and guide daily, high fidelity, narrative audio technical and content editing
• Have the ability to perform, lead the team and guide sound design including ambient audio, intro/outro sequences, music creation and curation
• Have the ability to perform, lead the team and guide production of short sponsor or advertising spots

QUALIFICATIONS

• At least 3 years experience as a Audio Producer/Editor
• Demonstrated prior experience in successfully leading podcast or radio production teams.
• High degree of knowledge, familiarity and comfort assisting others in understanding bitcoin, ethereum and nuanced cryptocurrency issues.
• Must be skilled with the Adobe Suite, particularly Adobe Audition and Photoshop.
• Must be able to communicate clearly, kindly, and efficiently over mediums including Slack, Video Chat, and via email.
• Experience with working and managing a fully remote team.
