Web3 Global SAR Coordinator

Bittrex, the leading blockchain technology provider and cryptocurrency exchange, is seeking a Compliance - Global SAR Coordinator (GSC) to support its Compliance Department, which is critical to the continued, dynamic business growth and long-term success! The GCS’s responsibilities will include coordinating SAR functions and submissions across all of Bittrex and Bittrex Global’s licensed jurisdictions in accordance with all applicable policies, procedures, and regulations. This is an individual contributor role with potential to take on supervisory duties in the future. Position will report to the BSA/AML Officer and possess a direct line of communication to Bittrex and Bittrex Global CCOs and local teams.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring alerts/investigations operations undertaken by the Bittrex US team per the Service Level Agreement, and tracking severity and timelines that affect global SAR suspense dates in Bermuda and Liechtenstein (Bittrex Global).
  • Tracking potentials SARs that derive from investigations and routing them to the appropriate jurisdictions for local filing.
  • Assisting US and global teams with SAR quality and contextual information.
  • Assisting with the actual creation and submission of SARs when volumes are high and/or there are timing requirements that the local office may be unable to meet (staff vacations, peak volume, etc.).
  • Monitoring for stale investigations (ex. overdue SOF requests or TXN inquiries) that may lead to untimely SARs.
  • Assisting local and global teams with training when needed. May also serve as a QC at CCO discretion.
  • Providing recommendations on additional methods or sources to enhance sanctions compliance processes, systems, and/or training.
  • Completing required compliance training and other relevant training/skills-education programs as deemed necessary by compliance department leadership.

Requirements:

  • CFCS, CAMS, or equivalent certification (at least 1) required
  • Expertise in SAR filing expectations and processes.
  • Familiarity with a broad range of compliance functions, and specific expertise in either AML, fraud, and/or sanctions
  • Ability to assess quality of work within the framework of larger regulatory requirements as well as Bittrex’s policies and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail and dedication to quality assurance to ensure the reporting of accurate data, while regularly monitoring said data to update shared information
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment and meet set deadlines
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Understanding and adherence to the highest level of discreteness and confidentiality regarding all aspects of his or her work and knowledge of the company

Greater consideration will be given to those applicants who can demonstrate the following:

  • previous experience in a dynamic, high-paced environment working on similar subject matter
  • previous financial industry experience or exposure to financial industry compliance processes and protocols
