Web3 Hackathon Manager

Compensation: $50k - $80k estimated

Parity Technologies is a team of the world’s premiere blockchain developers building industry-leading technologies that enable developers to create this next wave of better products and services.

We primarily steward Polkadot and Kusama, next-generation sharded, multichain networks. Our flagship product, Substrate is an open-source, modular and extensible blockchain-building framework that allows rapid innovation and fast deployment of custom built blockchains. Substrate provides the core building blocks of blockchains built for deployment to Polkadot and Kusama.

As we expand our developer relations efforts, we are looking for an extraordinary Hackathon Manager who will continue to spearhead our hackathon efforts. Hackathons are a critical part of our ecosystem growth and developer relations strategies, you will be responsible for every aspect of it. Ranging from planning and day-to-day operations, all the way to community management and event organization.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the setup, execution and success of all Polkadot and Substrate hackathons
  • Partner with the internal Marcomms team to create a coherent marketing and branding strategy for upcoming hackathons
  • Coordinate with external service providers to create the hackathon program, event operations and ultimately make the hackathon a success
  • Work with internal and external stakeholders to improve the Polkadot and Substrate developer onboarding experience
  • Hackathon community management: engage with hackathon participants to facilitate meaningful conversations and keep engagement high
  • Help hackathon participants navigate the Polkadot and Substrate ecosystem, resources and other available programs
  • Manage multi-week online hackathons and explore the organization of in-person hackathons
  • Provide quantifiable data and qualitative feedback about the hackathon success to management and other internal stakeholders



Requirements:

  • 3 years of experience managing hackathons or similar events
  • Good communication, coordination and time management skills
  • Tech savvy and interested in blockchain, preferably worked in the blockchain space before
  • Comfortable with hackathon platforms (Devpost, Gitcoin, DevFolio,...) as well as other online tools (Discord, Typeform, G Suite,...)
  • Native-level English skills, other languages are a plus
