Web3 Legal Specialist

Genies is looking for a Legal Specialist to join our team to help with day-to-day legal operations, contract management, and to help develop our legal processes and resources.

What You’ll be Doing:

• Actively involved in building and running the legal operations tools, including contract database, contract management, electronic signing, equity management, and other tools
• Be a primary point of contact for drafting, review, and negotiation of simple standard legal agreements such as non-disclosure agreements, licensing agreements, order forms, amendments and other contracts
• Assisting with corporate agreements, processes and data
• Assist in the development and implementation of scalable legal processes to efficiently handle the company’s legal needs
• Address questions and issues that arise from various internal clients and external partners
• Participating in key legal projects, including building out and automating the contract management processes and tools and the development and maintenance of contracting processes, standard forms, and playbooks
• Support the scaling up efforts of the legal function

What You Should Have:

• Bachelor’s degree, or higher.
• 5+ years work experience in the legal industry, preferably in a technology and/or start-up environment
• Strong knowledge of and comfort with contracts and general contract provisions, especially non-disclosure and services agreements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills and exceptional drive, precision, and attention to detail
• Good judgment in balancing business needs and potential legal risks
• Excellent time and self-management skills, ability to prioritize and multitask to meet deadlines
• Highlight organized, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
• Ability to exercise appropriate judgment, including determining when issues should be escalated
• Strong relationship building skills and abilities
• Experience working with legal technology, preferably DocuSign, IronClad or other legal contract management software, and Carta.
• Seasoned Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs and Sheets user
• Ability to innovate and create solutions
• Curiosity and eagerness to learn new things
