Web3 Product Counsel

At Azuki, you will have the opportunity to shape the future of anime by building and supporting innovative products that redefine how fans engage and experience content. As we continue to build a multimedia brand for the future, we are looking for a Product Counsel to provide strategic legal guidance across our projects, including the launch of anime.com.

You will join a passionate team with deep experience in tech, entertainment, crypto, and media, working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment. This role is ideal for a legal professional excited about the intersection of law, technology, and anime content.

You would be the second lawyer on the team and report to the Head of Legal, while spending most of your time day-to-day working closely with the product team.

Who You Are

• You are an experienced legal advisor with 4+ years of legal experience, ideally with a mix of in-house and law firm experience. Experience in media, tech, or entertainment with practical knowledge in VOD, social platforms, privacy, and/or payments preferred.

• Skilled in drafting and negotiating complex commercial contracts, including licensing agreements, production agreements, partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, and other key business agreements.

• Strong communication skills with the ability to distill complex legal topics for various stakeholders, including product, business, and engineering teams.

• Able to manage legal risks while balancing business opportunities and priorities.

• Preference for candidates based in Los Angeles/California, but we are open to other US-based candidates who meet the qualifications.

• Professional or personal interest in blockchain and/or anime is a plus!

What You'll Do

• Provide legal and regulatory advice to product teams, particularly related to the development and launch of anime.com.

• Draft and negotiate complex commercial contracts, including licensing agreements, production agreements, partnership agreements, joint venture agreements, and other key business agreements.

• Ensure the company is compliant with relevant laws and regulations in the entertainment industry and beyond.

• Advise on intellectual property issues and support licensing and distribution strategies.

• Work closely with cross-functional teams to help the company grow while mitigating legal risks.

Pay & Benefits

• Base Salary: $150,000 to $210,000, with the potential for equity and additional NFT/token-based incentives;
