Manager, Global Payroll

Due to the growth of Ripple, we are looking for a talented Payroll Manager to assist with managing the day to day global payroll activities. Reporting into the Director, Global Payroll, the Payroll Manager will have significant involvement in addressing technical and global challenges.

The ideal candidate will have prior experience processing payroll in a complex and dynamic environment and will be able to leverage prior US and Global payroll experience. To be successful in this role, the candidate will need to be organized and deadline driven, ensuring recurring assignments are handled on a timely basis while contributing to special projects and addressing unusual developments. Ripple’s technology is new and cutting edge which leads to complexities in our compensation and reporting.

WHAT YOU’LL DO:

  • Manage the day to day global payroll activities ensuring accurate & timely processing in compliance with Company's policies and local tax and labor regulations
  • Review and approve all payroll related transactions
  • Ensure timely filings with appropriate government authorities
  • Manage and audit year-end payroll activities globally
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to ensure payroll related transactions are reconciled and recorded appropriately in the general ledger timely
  • Collaborate with the tax team on global mobility activities
  • Support external audit activities
  • Maintain a complete understanding of all US federal/state wage and hour laws related to payroll including garnishments, benefits, leave of absence, 401k, FSA and taxes
  • Keeping up to date in global payroll compliance and ensuring it is updated in the current payroll processes
  • Establish standard procedures for payroll processing, ensuring strong internal controls and segregation of duties.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert to employees and internal partners, resolving issues timely and providing guidance on compliance related issues
  • Manage, coach, and develop a team of two

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR:

  • 7+ years of US payroll experience
  • 3+ years of global payroll experience (preferred experience in the following countries: UK, SG, BR, CAN, and IN)
  • 3+ years of managerial experience
  • Experience with ADP Workforce Now, Workday, and/or other payroll systems
  • Ability to manage workload in a SOX compliant environment
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to effectively communicate across departments and at all levels
  • Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to identify issues and propose solutions to complex or non-standard situations
  • Strong work ethic and ability to be productive and successful in a fast-paced work environment
  • Demonstrate complete discretion and confidentiality
  • Comfortable leading teams through ambiguity and be a champion of change
  • Problem solving and decision-making capacity in a high growth environment
  • High emotional intelligence, ability to build and sustain relationships at multiple levels within and outside of finance
  • Willing to “roll-up the sleeves” in order to accomplish all necessary tasks
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting required
  • CPP preferred
