Web3 Monitoring Specialist for Bitfury Data Centers

Location: ON Sarnia, Ontario, Canada

Position Summary

The purpose of this position is to maintain / increase the efficiency of the company’s main business processes by monitoring / controlling miner’s speed, hashrate via web pool admin panel, all Data Centers, network devices and etc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Monitor all systems which are involved in mining in different data centers around the world.
  • Control the hashrate of miners through admin panel and pool interface. Troubleshoot an issue in case of any hashrate drop.
  • Involve necessary departments (IT, R&D, Local team) to solve the issue.
  • Monitor temperature on the mining equipment.
  • Monitor the price of bitcoin and its network difficulty. In case of unprofitable mining turn off mining or switch to eco mode.
  • Control the launch of new data centers, miners and equipment, updating software and firmware via admin panel.
  • Monitor alerts in OpsGenie and respond to them.
  • Monitor SCADA systems.
  • Resolve the problem remotely through the admin panel.
  • All DCs operations issues shall be reported in the Mattermost chat groups which include all DCs workers, R&D, IT and the monitoring team.
  • Inform the managers, DC staff and clients about upcoming planned works.
  • Log any incident/planned work to jira web system and internal monitoring files.
  • Report each event in its corresponding time and email Daily Report to all DC managers.

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in the IT field.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft products including Excel/Word/Power-point
  • Advanced PC user
  • Basic knowledge of computer networks, preferably CCNA.
  • University degree in IT, business management, economics, mathematics, technology, engineering or similar.
  • Fluency in English is a must; Fluency in Russian is a good advantage.
  • Self-motivated personality.
  • Ability to work under pressure in crisis situations and make decisions instantly.
  • Ability to build and strongly motivate teams and keep cross-departmental business relationships both local and across multiple countries
  • Works with other departments in an effective manner to ultimately deliver on process and systems improvements. Escalates problems/concerns where appropriate.
  • Result orientation with attention to detail and numbers.
