About our client
Our client is a venture-backed team of University of Waterloo, Toronto and Berkeley alumni who want to see the blockchain space grow in Canada. Their primary focus is building tools in the Cosmos ecosystem, and they are core contributors to Tendermint Core and the Cosmos SDK.
Role Mission
The Operations Coordinator will play a pivotal role in advancing our client's operations in Toronto and working with the Executive Team to ensure the company's success.
This entails having or attaining a foundational understanding of how the company operates in Toronto (and globally), exploring new opportunities to expand operations, and providing support to both the Business Development and Product Development teams as needed.
The candidate will develop valuable teamwork skills by collaborating with a diverse group of professionals, including engineers, clinicians, and entrepreneurs. Additionally, they will acquire competencies in time management, organization, planning, administration, and prioritization.
Deliverables
- Assist in onboarding new employees to the team
- Maintain and improve the company’s bookkeeping system
- Assisting the Executive Team with legal diligence on various contracts, transactions, and deals
- Work closely with the Business team on grant research, applications, business plan enhancements, and other tasks
- Manage and build processes for the Toronto Office with service providers (e.g. coordinate deliveries, maintenance, food orders, cleaners, etc.)
About you
- Documentation skills (experience with legal documents is preferable) and general documentation structuring
- High level of personal management skills, including accountability and initiative
- Business development experience (preferable)
- Previous experience working in a startup environment or similar (preferable)
- A ‘no task is too small’ mentality (mandatory)
- Conducting research on various topics (including best business practices, operational processes, and government-sponsored funding programs)
- Understanding the functioning of a software development business in the blockchain/web3 spa
Nice to have
- Some level of familiarity/awareness of web3 and/or blockchain technology
