Web3 Payroll Manager

Compensation: $22k - $75k estimated

What you will do

  • Define the CoinList experience. CoinList has developed a successful suite of trading/lending products. You’ll assist with the payroll processing of all employees and contractors across the world on a semi-monthly basis.
  • Be a payroll expert. You’ll be a trusted advisor and help lead our payroll processes along with our accounting team. You’ll help guide our employees through any questions that may arise as well as respond to any tax agency requests.
  • Innovate on our financial products.You’ll leverage your expertise to help identify other financial processes and how to best implement them towards existing and future processes and implementations.
  • Lead and scale. As a member of our core team, you’ll take it upon yourself to identify opportunities for CoinList, get buy-in internally, and execute. CoinList is an incredibly entrepreneurial environment and we want people who will take advantage of this.

Who you are:

  • You’re a payroll expert. You’ve been a payroll specialist or overseen a team of payroll specialists at a payroll provider, government agency, or at another company. You have experience in processing payroll for 100+ individuals in multiple U.S. states and parts of the world.
  • You can execute. You have managed a team in the past and have helped design processes and systems to ensure the payroll runs seamlessly and is scalable as we onboard future employees joining the team. You are ready to get your hands dirty. You’ll hit deadlines and deliverables. You’ll step up to put out fires when they (inevitably) pop up.
  • You deal well with pressure. CoinList has multiple deadlines and you will help assist getting these payroll projects across the finish line in a timely manner. You thrive under high pressure situations like this and enjoy keeping others calm, on task, and on track.

Job Specific

The payroll manager will help the accounting team with various tasks associated with month-end close, quarter-end, and year-end processes. Task are as follows:

Monthly duties

  • Assist and review of onboarding of new employees
  • Prepare all payroll for all entities including reviewing/approving journal entries
  • Review account reconciliations and post payroll accruals
  • Help register with new states as filing commitments arise
  • Communicate with managers to receive timesheet approvals
  • Help answer any payroll-related questions asked by employees
  • Assist with paternity & maternity leave and 401k audit discrimation testing
  • Responsible for ensuring payroll regulatory filings are completed in line with statutory due dates and labor laws impacting the payroll process for all tax jurisdictions
  • Lead the implementation of multiple global payroll platforms and upgrades

Quarterly duties

  • Assist in ensuring regulatory filings are completed for each quarter
  • Establish and maintain a schedule of important filing dates and due dates
  • Create and maintain reconciliation of tax payments

Annual duties

  • Ensure options/RSUs/ESPP are reflected correctly on payroll
  • Review 1099s and W-2s prior to being sent out and distributed
  • Preparation and updating of the payroll procedure manual
  • Help file appropriate tax forms

Experience

  • 2-4 years experience running payroll for multi-state US payroll
  • 2-4 years experience running international payroll for both contractors and employees
  • Accounting, Human Resources, or similar degree
