The Department: International Leadership
The Role: Principal, Chief Information Officer
The Chief Information Officer (CIO) will oversee the information technology (IT) function within Gemini Payments Limited. The CIO will have ownership of and accountability for the establishment and execution of the companyâs technology needs, operations, and strategy, and will ensure its alignment with the company's business strategy and the delivery of capabilities required to achieve business success.
As a member of the Gemini Payments Limited leadership team, the CIO will participate in and contribute to overall company operations and strategy development, bringing a current knowledge and future vision to leverage information and technology in business model design, business processes re-engineering, operational improvements, and support for the company mission. The CIO, in a collaborative and structured fashion, will help set priorities and sequence for company portfolios and projects. The CIO will work across all functions on major initiatives and leads by influence and communication.
Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and oversight for the design, development, operation and support of information technology systems, including enterprise architecture management, application management, security and risk management, and infrastructure and operations support management.
- Contribute to the Gemini Group Information Technology roadmap formulation and represent the interests of Gemini Payments Limited ensuring Gemini Payments Limited has the Information Technology capabilities to service its customers.
- Oversee all outsourced Information Technology related activities, being the principle point of contact for dealings between the Gemini Payments Limited and Gemini Trust Company.
- Ensure that Gemini Payments Limited interests are met and protected as part of the Gemini Trust Company (GTC) Software Development Life Cycle and Change Management Process, representing the Company at all appropriate GTC Information Technology related fora.
- Contribute to Companyâs IT policies, strategies and standards, developing and implementing best practices and ensuring appropriate alignment with Gemini Payments Limited requirements.
- Ensure IT systems and procedures lead to outcomes in line with the Companyâs business plan.
- Support the Head of Product on all relevant aspects of product design and delivery from concept to release. Provide technical input and knowledge to the planning, design, and requirements process for new products and features. Engage with GTC CTO and Engineering Delivery Leads to seamlessly introduce new product requirements for the Company.
- Understand and interact with Gemini Payments Limited business and product teams through established forums and committees to ensure the consistent application of Company Information Technology policies and standards across all projects, systems, and services.
- Lead and drive a proactive relationship with the Central Bank of Ireland and other regulators in Europe as required on all aspects of the Company's Information Technology Maintain a strong working knowledge of the regulatory requirements and ensuring any developments and changes are incorporated into procedures and practices as appropriate.
- Stay current on new technologies; provides direction to the team on emerging technologies. Provides strategic direction in the organisation's innovation efforts and role in experimenting with new solutions to take advantage of those opportunities.
- Leverage relationships with key IT Partners to explore and develop capabilities aligned to the achievement of business success.
- Ensure that the Gemini Payments Limited Business Continuity Plan is tested on a periodic basis and for monitoring its implementation in the event of a severe disruption.
- Direct the team in resolving security issues, such as vulnerable software and applications, which should be tracked and mitigated in a timely manner.
- Serve as a trusted advisor; builds and maintains relationships with other executives to understand business needs; ensures cost-effective delivery of services to meet those needs, responds with agility to changing business priorities.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience in a senior management role in software development/application integration in a scaling high growth business environment with capability in full life cycle product development from concept to delivery.
- Proven experience gained within a relevant, regulated financial services organisation and a strong understanding of sophisticated products and services with relevant adjacencies to digital assets, including current/ developing knowledge of the emerging regulatory requirements.
- Previous experience leading organisations with integral technology platforms such as Global Transaction Services, Global Markets, Custody, Clearing and Exchanges or broader e-Commerce, Payment Services etc. will be advantageous.
- Strong leadership skills, including being able to demonstrate relevant experience in leading teams across a range of business and functional domains, including technology, operations, legal, risk, compliance, commercial sales, and client services.
- Evidence of operating effectively in a matrix organisation, working seamless across boundaries, borders, and functions to ensure communication, decision-making, strategy and execution is in line with global/ group objectives, yet appropriately applied to international/ local markets.
- Ability to proactively analyse relevant business drivers and strategies with senior management and colleagues to put in place appropriate processes and controls.
- The experience, gravitas, confidence, and stature to make a strong impact at all levels both internally and with external audiences.
