BlockFi is looking for a Senior Associate to join our growing Retail Strategy & Finance team!
About Your Team
The Retail Strategy & Finance team works cross-functionally to support BlockFi’s growth, particularly focusing on our Retail client business. The Senior Associate will look at market trends, competitor landscape, and internal and external data sources to model potential growth areas for the company and make recommendations to various team leads. We are seeking a strategic thinker with strategy and analytics experience to join our team.
Your Mission
- Partner with Product, Marketing, and Ops to bring a strategic perspective to decision-making, especially to inform new products, growth strategies, and optimization of our current business
- Develop a deep understanding of key performance drivers to structure complex and ambiguous strategic problems to support BlockFi leadership team decision making on key business initiatives
- Create customer-centric views of product performance and refine customer segmentation to highlight the best opportunities to bring value to our clients
- Understand the ever-evolving landscape of crypto globally and use competitive analysis to develop perspectives on the client mindset and overall trends
- Develop insights and recommendations using data analysis for topics such as promotional campaigns, product prioritization, and expansion into new markets
- Perform ad-hoc analyses as well as drive longer-term projects, balancing the two and managing expectations along the way
- Work closely with data engineers / scientists on our Data Infrastructure team to produce analyses, Tableau visualizations and dashboards, and reports on key metrics and trends
- Collaborate with the Finance team to scale and improve its processes supporting the ambitious growth plan of the Company
Qualifications
- At least 3-4 years experience in a strategic / analytical role, such as top-tier consulting, investment banking, or private equity
- Thrives in fast-paced, ambiguous environments with equal enthusiasm for solving problems big and small
- Strategic thinker with flexibility to solve problems through various lenses and drive stakeholder alignment
- Deep experience with analytics (aka master of modeling) with Excel/Google Sheets skills required
- Ability to go beyond the data and understand the “so what” to translate findings into key insights and actionable recommendations through reports, charts, and slides
- Structured, clear, and concise communicator, including for complex topics
- Ownership mindset with ability to manage work independently and also know when to ask for help
- Team player that works well cross functionally
- Intellectual curiosity with a desire for continual improvement and learning
- Familiarity with SQL and/or Tableau (or desire to learn) also a plus
