Web3 Senior Credit Officer

SENIOR CREDIT OFFICER 


The candidate will be responsible for managing all credit risk aspects of a portfolio of hedge funds, market-makers, trading firms, and crypto-exchanges.  This includes providing timely trade approvals, leading due diligence meetings, writing credit analyses and negotiating documentation. The position reports directly to the Chief Credit Officer.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Review new business opportunities being presented by the front office, and provide early feedback on structure/terms and client selection in the screening process in order to ensure that the proposed business fits within Celsius's risk appetite.
  • Undertake due diligence of new clients
  • Engage partners including Legal, Trading, Operations, and Market Risk as appropriate.
  • Ongoing monitoring of portfolio, including client financial condition and credit risk exposure. 
  • Escalation of any issues. 
  • Responding to ad-hoc information and reporting requests.
  • Engagement in various other aspects of credit risk underwriting, including development of internal analytics and stress testing, policies and procedures, asset quality monitoring, etc.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience

  • Bachelor Degree required, Graduate degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ previous credit experience, specifically geared towards analysis and understanding of financial counterparties
  • Strong preference for direct experience covering a portfolio of hedge funds and trading firms.
  • Substantial experience as a risk manager with an excellent understanding of credit risk metrics, as well as credit risk mitigation techniques.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge and understanding of internal credit rating models and methodologies, as well as credit risk monitoring approaches and systems.
  • Ability to establish partnerships across the organization and build effective work groups.

 

This person should be located in NYC but will have an opportunity to work partially remotely
