Web3 Senior Devops Engineer

At Swissblock, we are passionate about creating cutting-edge algorithmic trading strategies for the cryptocurrency market using in-depth market analysis. Our software engineers create and maintain the automated trading platform, which covers data ingestion, strategy generation, order execution and portfolio management.

As a Senior DevOps Engineer in the Infrastructure, DevOps and Security team, you will improve, maintain and operate our algorithmic trading system in Google Cloud Platform (GCP), consisting of execution clusters, network architecture, identity and access management, application security, CI/CD, logging, monitoring, tracing and more.

We are looking for a highly skilled DevOps expert with experience in deploying scalable enterprise-grade applications in a GCP / Kubernetes environment. You will work with strategic partners such as quantitative traders, developers and data scientists. Together with your team, you will design and implement system architecture, apply DevOps best practices, and perform infrastructure migration, capacity planning, resource scaling, cost optimization, monitoring and troubleshooting. Most importantly, ensure continuous availability and reliability.

- Drive in-depth analysis of architecture, design and implementation of our system.

- Maintain and enhance the existing infrastructure.

- Conduct reviews, and support vulnerability and incident response.

- Drive and track progress of infrastructure changes from concept to production.

- Perform workload and complexity assessments.

- Influence the technical direction of new services and initiatives.

- Work with engineers to define and keep our concepts and DevOps best-practices.

- 5 years of working experience with operating production infrastructure.

- Broad range of GCP knowledge on administrator level with certification.

- Deep knowledge and experience in Kubernetes with network setup, containerization, cluster setup, security and high availability configurations.

- Messaging, streaming, logging and middleware administration knowledge (Kafka, NATS, Prometheus and Grafana).

- Relational, NoSQL and time series database knowledge and hands-on skills in deployment, maintenance and performance tuning (Postgres, MongoDB, Cassandra).

- Deep understanding and experience in application security setup with certificate, secret, encryption and keystore management.

- Unix, Linux, shell scripting and automation experience.

- Infrastructure as code experience in a CI/CD DevOps environment.

- Development know-how to support software engineers (Go, Python, REST APIs).

- Proficient written and verbal communication in English.

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a proactive attitude to own and solve issues.

- Sense for quality, reliability and innate curiosity to learn new things.

- Financial background in FX or digital assets.

- Experience in operating algorithmic trading infrastructure.
