Web3 Senior Hard Surface Modeler

The Role


Gala is excited to announce our Last Expedition team is adding to their Art team on this amazing, PVPVE FPS game. We are looking for a Senior Hard Surface Modeler who will be responsible for creating high-quality hard surface models and assets for use in the game.

You will work closely with the Art Director and team to build and maintain qualitative goals and artistic consistency, setting high visual standards. You will be an integral part of the art team tasked with designing and implementing a wide range of in-game art assets.

Responsibilities


  • Create in-game-ready, real-time 3D vehicles (exterior and cockpit interiors), weapons, and environment assets.
  • Collaborate with the Art Director and other team members to develop and implement a consistent art >
  • Ensure that all models and assets are optimized for game performance and meet technical requirements
  • Maintain a high level of quality and attention to detail in all work produced
  • Works with the production team (Modelers, Technical Directors, Painters, and Animators) to determine the 'look" for an object.
  • Collaborate closely with the engineering and art teams to create beautiful and believable assets without sacrificing performance, readability, and gameplay.
  • Flexibility to do organic sculpting and Hard surface modeling
  • Balance artistic aspects with technical constraints, maintaining quality and performance standards

Essential Skills and Qualifications


  • 5+ years of experience as a hard surface modeler, with a strong portfolio of work demonstrating proficiency in creating high-quality hard surface models for games
  • Strong understanding of Unreal 4 & 5, Lumen, and Nanite
  • Strong understanding of game development pipelines and the technical requirements for game assets
  • Proficient in industry-standard 3D modeling and texturing software, such as Maya, Blender, ZBrush, Substance Painter, and Photoshop
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain a high level of quality in all work produced
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Ability to provide feedback and mentorship to other team members
  • Experience working with game engines such as Unity or Unreal Engine
  • Self-motivated, stellar work ethic, fun collaborator
