BlockFi is looking for a Strategic Finance Associate to join our growing team!

About Your Team

The Institutional Strategy & Analytics team works cross-functionally to i) oversee, advise, and provide financial planning to the Institutional team, which engages in lending, OTC trading, and investing and ii) work cross-functionally with the rest of the Finance team, Operations, and the broader BlockFi organization.

We are seeking a strategic thinker with strategy, investment, and analytics experience to join our team.

Your Mission

• Utilize internal data and external insights to help drive business & investment decisions for BlockFi’s Institutional business segments including lending, OTC trading and derivatives
• Develop a deep understanding of key performance drivers and leverage financial insights to recommend business improvements and assist in optimizing resource allocations based on business needs and financial results
• Support growth initiatives such as new product launches as well as business development activities such as partnerships, strategic investments, and/or acquisitions
• Function as a market intelligence expert by maintaining a strong perspective on crypto industry trends and identifying areas of opportunity for BlockFi’s future growth
• Enhance and maintain reporting, planning, budgeting, and forecasting for new and existing projects as well as for overall team financials
• Perform ad-hoc analyses and recommendations proactively and in response to Senior Management

Your expertise

• 2+ years experience in a strategic/analytical role such as management consulting, investment banking, or asset management
• Advanced experience as an Excel & Google Sheets user who can manage large files, multiple data sources, and produce effective templates to use across the organization
• Demonstrated ability to go beyond the data and understand the qualitative “so what”, to translate findings into key insights and actionable recommendations
• Strong communication skills to convey complex topics and recommendations in a clear and concise manner
• Ability to independently manage work from end to end without significant support
• Strong teammate that works well with various functions across the organization
• Intellectual curiosity with a passion for crypto/fintech/financial markets
