Web3 System Monitoring Technician

The System Monitoring Technician is an exciting opportunity for a motivated and passionate individual to join the team at Foundry, a subsidiary of the blockchain industry’s most prolific and active investor, Digital Currency Group. Reporting to the Technical Operations Monitoring and Support Manager, the System Monitoring Technician will be responsible for reliable operation of servers including monitoring, tier 1 support, problem escalation, and monitor configuration.

This position may allow for some remote work, but will also require onsite work in our office in Rochester, NY.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: (responsibilities of the role, listed in order of most importance)

  • Responsible for reliable operation of servers including monitoring, tier 1 support, problem escalation, and monitor configuration.
  • Troubleshoot hardware and software errors by running diagnostics, documenting problems and resolutions, prioritizing problems, and assessing impact of issues.
  • Provide documentation and technical specifications to staff for planning and implementing changes.
  • Responsible for documenting any issues with the monitored systems, including providing Root Cause Analysis (RCA)
  • Research opportunities to create predictive analytics that will help identify problems with the monitored systems before they occur.

ABOUT YOU:

Minimum Qualifications; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, System Administration, or a closely related field, or equivalent experience required
  • 1-3 years systems support
  • Scripting knowledge in Bash
  • System administration and IT certifications in Linux are a plus
  • Experience working with Debian based Linux distributions and open-source software
  • Strong knowledge of systems/networking software, hardware, and networking protocols
  • A proven track record of providing excellent computer/server support
